Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Training and Development Specialist - Journeyman to join our team at Chenega MIOS SBU. As a key member of our instructional systems team, you will be responsible for providing knowledge and expertise in the operation, employment, maintenance, or repair of systems, subsystems, or equipment related to military training systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Provide specific occupational knowledge to instructional systems teams leading to the successful development of training programs and curricula in support of customer and program objectives.
  • Technical Accuracy: Assure the technical and operational accuracy of the subject matter undergoing training product development.
  • Training Requirements: Support the Instructional Systems Analysts in identifying/validating training requirements.
  • Human Performance Metrics: Support the Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychologist in developing human performance metrics.
  • Learning Profiles: Develop target audience learning profiles.
  • Task Analysis: Provide technical expertise in developing straw man task lists to expedite the task analysis process.
  • Courseware Development: Support the Instructional Systems Analyst in determining the most appropriate courseware presentation and media for the subject matter.
  • Assessment Items: Provide consultation concerning the level of difficulty of assessment items.
  • Reports and Presentations: Develop POA&M(s), research designs and strategies, progress reports, and prepare final reports.
  • Consultation and Guidance: Serve as advisor and consultant to various NAWCTSD Orlando acquisition functions and other Navy and DoD organizations on matters relating to instructional technologies and methodologies.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate with professionals in the field of military and industrial training and transfer the advances in instructional technology for collecting and evaluating data to assigned tasks.
  • Meetings and Conferences: Provide guidance for meetings and conferences to coordinate research efforts and to provide an interface with other technical codes of NAWCTSD Orlando and other training activities and agencies.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience: Bachelor's degree preferred. Formal training and experience working as a Naval Aircrewman Acoustics (AWO) with G09A NEC experience required.
  • Clearance: Must have 5+ years of experience in DoD. Navy training preferred. Secret clearance required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Communication: Must have the ability to attend all customer in-person meetings and conferences within two (2) hours, as requested.
  • Travel: Ability to travel locally up to 50%.
  • Project Management: Possess the ability to coordinate and integrate the work activities of several different projects at any one time.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Possess the ability to communicate with others effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Learning Environment: Ability to apply Integrated Learning Environment principles and guidelines for the design and development of training products.
  • Learning Strategies: Ability to develop learning strategies, assessment strategies, and author training products to close identified training gap.
  • Technical Accuracy: Verify and ensure the technical and operational accuracy of the subject content and the treatment of content in materials chosen or produced for the project.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to assist in the performance of the planning process.
  • Leadership: Consider the relationship of the subject undergoing development to other subjects in the program, making recommendations to enhance the situation.
  • Computer Skills: Advanced working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Integrity and Accountability: Maintain a high level of integrity and accountability.
  • Leadership Skills: Possess strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
