Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation:

  • Adhere to recipes and preparation lists to ready ingredients for cooking.
  • Accurately measure and combine ingredients to ensure consistency.
  • Organize and set up workstations prior to and during service.
  • Ensure all required ingredients and tools are accessible.
  • Prepare and present dishes according to established recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Monitor and adjust cooking temperatures to maintain food quality.
  • Follow portion control and presentation standards diligently.
  • Stay updated on emerging cooking techniques and trends.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work in coordination with fellow kitchen staff to ensure efficient order flow during service.
  • Communicate effectively with the head chef and team members.

Inventory Oversight:

  • Assist in managing inventory by tracking and replenishing ingredients as necessary.
  • Notify the kitchen manager of any shortages or inconsistencies.

Quality Assurance:

  • Inspect food items for quality and freshness prior to serving.
  • Ensure all dishes leaving the kitchen meet established quality benchmarks.
  • Work efficiently to meet service demands and ensure timely order fulfillment.
  • Prioritize tasks to manage multiple orders concurrently.

Sanitation and Maintenance:

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Assist in the regular upkeep and cleaning of kitchen appliances.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a line cook or prep cook.
  • Familiarity with culinary techniques and cooking methods.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage pressure effectively.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
