We are seeking a skilled Custom Applicator to join our team at Helena Agri-Enterprises, LLC. As a Custom Applicator, you will be responsible for applying dry fertilizers to our customers' fields, operating various equipment, and performing maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Apply dry fertilizers to customer fields using specialized equipment
- Operate and maintain applicator equipment, including performing routine maintenance and calibration
- Drive a truck and assist with general operations at the location
- Recommends and applies pesticides and fertilizers as needed
- Maintains accurate log books on applied acres
- Performs maintenance and calibration on application equipment
- Follows up on weed control in sprayed areas
- Wears proper protective equipment
- Participates in continuing education for maintaining pesticide applicator license
- Attends applicator equipment workshops
- Performs maintenance on other equipment and fixed facilities
- Pulls soil samples
- Mixes dry and liquid fertilizer
- Picks up and delivers farm chemicals, fertilizer, and seed
- Makes sales calls to customers
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in operating large equipment required
- CDL and pesticide license required
- Must pass a drug test and background check
- Mechanically inclined
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic knowledge of ag pesticides and weed identification
- Excellent driving record
- Able to accurately read field maps
- Professional competence to safety
The work environment for this position is a typical outdoor setting in all types of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements.
When working outdoors and possibly around moving equipment/mechanical parts, the employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations, and a risk of electrical shock.
This position requires the use of hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, stand, and sit.
The employee may be occasionally required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
