Heavy Equipment Operator Job Summary

Summit Materials is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various heavy equipment in our quarry environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment such as haul trucks, loaders, water trucks, track hoes, excavators, and more in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance and checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist with general labor-related duties and maintenance as needed.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Attend safety and operations meetings and trainings as directed.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in heavy equipment operation is preferred.
  • Ability to work outside daily/year-round, as needed.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write the English language.
  • Ability to respond quickly to hazards and safety concerns.
