Job Summary

At TIC - The Industrial Company, we are seeking a skilled Scaffolding Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient erection and dismantling of scaffolding, operation of heavy equipment, and completion of various construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning: Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, including locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
  • Scaffolding Erection: Identify all tools required for tasks and measure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
  • Heavy Equipment Operation: Erect and disassemble scaffolding for buildings and other structures, and install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
  • Rigging and Scaffolding: Construct, re-enforce, and dismantle pre-constructed scaffolds, and build and construct wooden scaffolds and auxiliary items.
  • Project Execution: Perform work involving rigging of equipment loads, and ensure compliance with all safety and project rules.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or a related area.
  • Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position, including the ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
  • Physical Demands: Constantly move about a construction/industrial site, stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl, and work in a construction environment exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions.
  • Work Environment: Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required, and be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • Physical Abilities: Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces, and be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment.
  • Equipment Operation: May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds across the construction/industrial site.
