Salary Information:
- Estimated annual salary: $72,500 (midpoint of range)
- Benefits include 100% coverage for a single Individual medical insurance, 10 days of vacation leave per year, 10 days of sick leave per year, flexible or alternate schedule available upon approval, dental insurance, CERS retirement, life insurance ($25,000 policy), vision insurance reimbursement ($150 per year), optional Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and KY Deferred Compensation Contribution, and additional life insurance options
**Key Responsibilities**
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for taking a leading role in the month-end close process, ensuring the month is closed by the 10th of each month. Additionally, the position involves reviewing monthly financials with the Finance Director and division leads, reviewing processes and procedures for improvements and modernization opportunities, assisting with payroll processing for the NKADD while maintaining all payroll reports, spreadsheets, and files, ensuring all related payroll taxes and required payroll items are remitted correctly, preparing monthly bank reconciliations, completing and reconciling agency program billings on a monthly basis, researching and solving payment discrepancies, serving as the primary point of contact for all Accounts Payable, and assisting with W-2s and 1099 annual filings.
Requirements and Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with 7+ years related experience in not-for-profit and governmental accounting
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative professional relationships with internal customers and external parties as needed
- Knowledge of the concepts, theories, principles, and practices of financial management, including mathematical skills and abilities, interpretation of local, state, and federal directives, guidelines, and laws, professional accounting, accounts receivable and payable, and general payroll and timesheet principles and procedures
- Considerable knowledge of modern bookkeeping practices, procedures, equipment, and clerical techniques, ability to maintain moderately complex financial and clerical records, prepare reports in a neat, concise, and accurate manner, operate electronic data processing equipment and computer systems, accurately enter data into computer systems and use spreadsheets, understand and follow written and oral instructions quickly and accurately, appear for work in a timely way, and complete assigned tasks within a reasonable period of time

- Work is typically performed indoors in an office setting, requiring intermittent sitting, standing, or stooping, consistent use of a computer, software programs, and phone system, and other office equipment
