Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Budget Analyst, you will be responsible for:
- Budget Formulation and Execution
- Develop and implement budget plans, forecasts, and projections for assigned areas.
- Monitor and analyze budget execution, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare and present financial reports, including budget execution, financial statements, and trend analysis.
- Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and projections to support budget decision-making.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with senior management, program managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Communicate complex financial information to non-technical stakeholders, including budget plans, financial reports, and analysis.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Specialized Experience
- At least one year of experience in budget analysis, financial planning, or a related field.
- Experience working with financial systems, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Education and Combination of Experience and Education
- A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as finance, accounting, or business administration.
- Or, a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement:
- For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
- For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.
- For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-09 level for 52 weeks.
Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
