Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative coverage for patient service functions, including check-out operations, encounter form data collection, and balance processing.
  • Collect and process payments for services rendered, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Balance work and computer records at the end of each day, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Answer multi-line phones and route calls accordingly, providing excellent customer service to patients and staff.
  • Receive and record changes in patient information, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with insurance procedures and knowledge of participating plans, ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement.
  • Responsible for scheduling appointments for return visits and end-of-day procedures, ensuring efficient and effective use of time.
  • Compile data for billing personnel, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
  • Develop and maintain strong communication skills, utilizing the A-I-D-E-T fundamentals of communication to effectively interact with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Attend meetings and participate on committees as directed, contributing to quality improvement initiatives and team-based approach to patient care.
  • Collaborate with patients, physicians, and other care team members to provide exceptional patient care and support.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards, completing required education assignments annually and working towards achieving goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; preference given to individuals with a high school diploma or GED.
  • One year of experience in a medical office setting, with working knowledge of clinic appointment scheduling, collection, and ICD-9/10 and CPT-4 coding (charge entry) required.
  • Minimum three years of total customer-facing/customer service experience required.
  • No licensure required.
