Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for executing general upkeep tasks and ensuring the functionality of various hospital machinery and equipment. This role includes performing minor repairs across the facility, encompassing plumbing, electrical, mechanical, structural, and landscaping maintenance.

Expanded Position Summary:

In accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, this role is classified as a "Safety-sensitive position." This designation encompasses any job duties that may impact the safety and health of the employee or others. Employees in safety-sensitive roles are subject to specific regulations and potential disciplinary actions in the event of a positive drug test.

Plant Operations Manager

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To succeed in this role, an individual must effectively perform each essential function.
  • Performance will be evaluated based on appropriateness, efficiency, effectiveness, and timeliness.

Job Responsibilities:

1) Respond to all emergency situations, including fire, severe weather, and security incidents.

2) Install and repair pumps, sanitizers, and various medical equipment.

3) Replace or repair light fixtures, bulb sockets, switches, and other minor electrical components.

4) Address minor plumbing issues, including pipes, faucets, and gaskets.

5) Manage minor construction tasks within the facility, such as drywall installation, taping, floating, texturing, and painting.

6) Uphold high standards of safety and cleanliness throughout the facility.

7) Participate in additional duties as assigned by the department manager.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Seek external resources through conferences and workshops as needed.
  • Share professional insights with hospital staff, board members, and administrators.
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Adhere to the hospital's mission, philosophy, policies, and procedures.
  • Support the hospital's objectives and goals.
  • Maintain a good attendance record and follow all hospital rules and procedures.
  • Foster open and effective communication with patients, nurses, physicians, peers, supervisors, and students.
  • Establish and maintain strong interdepartmental and interpersonal relationships.
  • Attend departmental meetings and training sessions to stay updated on departmental and hospital developments.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Capability to read, analyze, and interpret reports and documents.
  • Ability to present information to top management, public groups, and staff regarding hospital programs.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with maintenance regulations in a healthcare environment.
  • One year of experience in a hospital setting is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • English is the primary language used in the hospital.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from various groups, including managers, physicians, clients, customers, and employees.

MATH SKILLS:

  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute ratios, percentages, and rates, as well as create and interpret graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to define and solve problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions in both statistical and diagrammatic forms, dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.
