The Housekeeper provides a clean and safe environment within the facility, adhering to departmental safety precautions and established procedures. This role is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of patient care areas, exam rooms, waiting rooms, restrooms, offices, and meeting rooms.
Key Responsibilities- Perform sanitizing and disinfecting work throughout the hospital and clinics, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Conduct general cleaning tasks, including trash/recycling/biohazard removal, dusting, wet wiping, glass cleaning, vacuuming, polishing, and mopping.
- Perform detail cleaning tasks, such as wiping ceiling vents, high/low dusting, wiping furniture, edge vacuuming, and baseboard cleaning.
- Operate light extraction carpet cleaning and scrubbing of safety flooring using automated equipment.
- Identify and report maintenance and security needs in assigned areas, ensuring prompt repairs.
- Perform basic equipment care, checking for wear and damage on assigned equipment.
- Comply with department Quality Control Reports and make corrections to work quality promptly.
- Stay current on proper disinfection practices and infection control requirements, adhering to DSH standards and techniques for infection reduction.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports and documents.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- High school graduate or equivalency.
- Knowledge of housekeeping regulations in a hospital setting.
- One year of experience working in a hospital setting preferred.
English is the primary language of the Hospital. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
