Position Summary
The Maternity Care Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering direct patient care in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act. This role requires effective communication, maintaining a safe environment, and identifying patient-specific nursing needs. The Registered Nurse will develop individualized care plans using a collaborative approach and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize therapeutic communication and maintain a safe therapeutic environment.
- Identify and address nursing issues related to patient needs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development across the lifespan.
- Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Apply the nursing process to meet patient needs and document care accurately.
- Exhibit technical skills, adherence to procedures, and critical thinking in patient care.
- Coordinate care to align with the hospital's mission and vision.

Qualifications:
- Degree from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (B.S. or A.S.).
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience, with a preference for Labor and Delivery experience.
- Current BLS certification.
- ACLS certification required within 6 months.
- NRP certification required within 6 months.
- AWHONN training required within one year.
- CPI Training & Certification required within 6 months.
- Current licensure by the Tennessee Board of Nursing or Compact State.
