Job Summary:
The Clinical Services Technician is responsible for collecting pathology specimens at free-standing Ambulatory Care Centers. This role involves registration processing and allocation of laboratory specimens and orders from all sources, ensuring proper patient/specimen identification and appropriateness of specimen and accompanying orders. The successful candidate will organize laboratory workflow, prioritize processing and preparation of specimens for transport, and maintain a clean and orderly work environment while being fiscally responsible to the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
• Collect pathology specimens at free-standing Ambulatory Care Centers
• Register and process laboratory specimens and orders from all sources
• Verify proper patient/specimen identification and appropriateness of specimen and accompanying orders
• Organize laboratory workflow and prioritize processing and preparation of specimens for transport
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment and proper PAR levels of supplies
• Utilize requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems to test, request, accession, correctly label, and package specimens to ensure specimen integrity for delivery via courier to appropriate laboratory facility
• Perform specified procedures within scope of established testing methods and responsibilities
• Manage patient wait times and expectations utilizing available computer systems and clear communication
• Demonstrate service excellence by acknowledging customers in a friendly and professional manner, actively listening, responding with empathy, and showing pride in appearance and behavior

Requirements:
1 year of clinical experience as a phlebotomist or equivalent education requirement
High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate phlebotomy or certificate from an accredited institution preferred
Phlebotomy certification preferred
Varies M-F 7:30 - 5:30, no weekends, no call requirements
