Child Evangelism Fellowship Virginia, Central Virginia Chapter, is in search of a dedicated individual with a ministry focus to assume the role of District Team Leader (DTL).


Key Responsibilities:

The District Team Leader (DTL) will oversee the After-School Good News Clubs (GNCs) within the designated District, ensuring both the growth and quality of these programs. The role requires a commitment of approximately 20 hours per week.


Specific Duties:
  • Facilitates Growth of Good News Clubs:
    Encourages the establishment of GNCs in new educational institutions within the District.
    Engages with community members to promote the GNC program.
    Communicates significant contacts and public relations opportunities to the Director and Good News Club Coordinator.
    Invites new children to participate in existing clubs to enhance their growth.
  • Ensures Quality of Good News Clubs:
    Conducts regular evaluations of clubs to ensure compliance with CEF Policies, focusing on:
    - Instructional quality (all components of GNC are taught)
    - Student care quality (evangelism, discipleship, safety, and enjoyment)
  • Supervises GNC Team Leaders:
    Ensures all team members are listed on the Club Roster with Child Protection clearance.
    Submits Monthly Statistical Reports to the chapter office within the required timeframe.
    Maintains communication between the club, sponsoring church, and Chapter Prayer Coordinator.
    Completes administrative tasks as necessary.
    Coordinates with school offices to facilitate club arrangements.
    Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned by the Local Director.

Reporting Structure:

The DTL will meet regularly with the Local Coordinator/Director and provide a monthly written report.


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must agree to and sign CEF's Statement of Faith and demonstrate a balanced approach to Christian living through:

  • A consistent daily relationship with the Lord
  • Effective resource management
  • Active involvement in a local church
  • A ministry-oriented, humble, and servant leadership style
