Job Description

As a Steel Fabrication Supervisor at Banker Steel Company LLC, you will be responsible for leading a team of fabricators to ensure the timely and accurate production of steel products. Your primary goal will be to maintain a safe and efficient work environment, while also meeting customer expectations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and enforce company policies and procedures to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
  • Ensure all employees have the necessary equipment and training to perform their jobs safely and effectively.
  • Communicate with management to resolve issues and make timely decisions to ensure safe and on-time deliveries.
  • Maintain a proactive relationship with other supervisors and the workforce to promote a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure employees are managed consistently and fairly, and are free from harassment and discrimination.
  • Train and develop employees in proper quality, operating, and safety procedures.
  • Organize the workflow to meet delivery dates, considering the availability of materials and the productivity of employees.
  • Control the workflow and its influence on production, acknowledging the strengths and weaknesses of employees and providing training to improve overall output.
  • Follow and execute production/shipping plans, and take direct instructions from Plant Manager or designee.
  • Distribute work to employees and follow up to ensure instructions are being followed.
  • Recommend disciplinary action to Plant Manager, General Manager, HR, or designee.
  • Review and approve weekly Timecard for correct jobs, batches, and time.
  • Approve/deny requests for time off from employees.
  • Ensure full compliance with the Banker Steel Company safety program and 8 cardinal rules.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in various indoor conditions, including hot and cold temperatures, dust, and noisy conditions.
  • Must be able to lift a maximum weight of 20 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must be able to carry a maximum weight of 20 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching forward, balancing, feeling, object handling, simple hand grasping, firm hand grasping, and operating controls will be required.
  • Regular sitting, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching overhead, stooping, and crouching will be required.
  • Must be able to properly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
