Job Summary:

This is a senior-level supervisory position responsible for overseeing all nutritional programs and supporting staff in a district. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of program management, analytical principles, and service integration. Key responsibilities include planning, implementing, and providing nutrition services to a district, as well as supervising professional and support employees. A thorough knowledge of WIC program policies and procedures is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise all nutritional programs and supporting staff in a district
Plan, implement, and provide nutrition services to a district
Supervise professional and support employees
Develop and implement program plans, including budgeting and personnel management
Write WIC grant(s) and the WIC Service Plan
Conduct Local Agency Management Evaluations (LAME) reviews and follow up on corrective action
Provide technical training and programmatic assistance
Develop satellite clinics and provide outreach to physicians' offices, human services agencies, hospitals, and other related entities

Requirements:

Must meet requirements for use of title Dietitian/Nutritionist as authorized by Code of VA
Thorough knowledge of program management, analytical principles, and service integration
Extensive knowledge of WIC program policies and procedures
Ability to supervise multi-disciplinary teams and provide team leadership
Ability to write reports, interpret policy, and develop statistical reports

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in public health nutrition
Registered Dietician certification
Supervisory experience
