Your responsibilities will include providing excellent customer service to patients, vendors, and patrons of Maine Optometry. You will perform various routine clerical work, provide data entry support, and provide information and assistance to patients regarding departmental policies and procedures. Your duties will include answering telephone calls, greeting individuals entering the office, handling inquiries from patients and vendors, receiving and sorting mail and other deliverables, maintaining and organizing the reception/waiting area, operating office equipment, inputting and retrieving data within the computer system, providing excellent customer service in scheduling patient appointments, controlling and requesting inventory relevant to the reception area, completing end-of-day tasks and other outstanding paperwork, and properly billing and submitting services to insurance companies while keeping patients accurately informed. You will also receive and organize office materials and supplies, receive, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing correspondence, and contribute to the overall practice needs by accomplishing duties as they arise and providing results needed for a smooth-running practice as assigned. We are looking for a high school graduate or equivalent with previous medical office experience preferred. You should have strong customer service skills, basic math skills, familiarity with computers, and the ability to learn new software.
