Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee the receiving operations within our warehouse facility at Mid-West Equipment Sales. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a team of receiving associates, coordinating the efficient and accurate receipt of incoming shipments, and ensuring the seamless flow of goods through the receiving department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of receiving associates, offering training, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure they are equipped to handle the demands of the role.
  • Operations Oversight: Manage the entire process of incoming shipments, encompassing scheduling, unloading, verification, storage, and record-keeping to maintain inventory accuracy and optimize processes.
  • Efficient Scheduling: Strategically plan the reception of containers to maximize time and resource efficiency, minimizing delays and ensuring a smooth flow of goods.
  • Collaborative Tracking: Work closely with supply chain and inventory teams to ensure precise tracking and documentation of all received items, ensuring accurate inventory levels and minimizing discrepancies.
  • Inventory Accuracy: Maintain impeccable inventory records, swiftly addressing any discrepancies or issues that may arise, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Process Enhancement: Continually refine receiving methods to boost efficiency, accuracy, and safety, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimize operations.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Liaise with various departments to expedite shipment processing and reduce bottlenecks, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration throughout the organization.
  • Technology Utilization: Employ warehouse management systems (e.g., Netsuite, RF-Smart) for tracking shipments, inventory levels, and performance metrics, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety standards and protocols within the receiving area, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
  • Issue Resolution: Address concerns related to damaged goods, lost items, or shipping errors promptly, resolving issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Keep up-to-date records and reports to track operations and performance, providing valuable insights for process improvement and decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; further education in logistics or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience: Proven experience in warehouse receiving, with a minimum of [2] years in a supervisory role.
