Position Overview:


The primary responsibility of the Vehicle Inspection Specialist is to conduct thorough evaluations of customer vehicles upon receipt. This includes identifying any damages, missing components, and mechanical issues by performing detailed inspections of both the interior and exterior of the vehicles. Key areas of focus include the odometer reading, trunk area, engine compartment, and overall vehicle condition.


Key Responsibilities:


- Assess vehicle information against work order details and document any findings related to frame/paint damage, engine sounds, air conditioning and heating functionality, radio operation, tire condition, and more.

- Complete all necessary documentation accurately and efficiently.

- Prepare for end-of-day procedures and maintain an organized system for daily operations.

- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.

- Generate electronic condition reports (ECR) and conduct courtesy walk-around inspections as part of the operational process.

- Stay informed about system capabilities and relevant software applications.

- Keep up-to-date with advancements in inspection techniques and vehicle maintenance knowledge.

- Demonstrate a commitment to safety by adhering to all health and safety protocols and actively participating in safety initiatives.

- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management, which may include overtime as required by business needs.



Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.

- Typically requires less than 2 years of experience in a related field.

- Successful completion of the ICP Level I written and field examination.

- Familiarity with Baseline Inspections (Electronic Condition Report) and vehicle grading is essential.

- Valid driver's license and safe driving record are mandatory.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.

- Technical aptitude and knowledge of body, paint, and mechanical repairs are preferred.

- Understanding of unibody and full-frame vehicles is advantageous.

- Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask are required.

- Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods, as well as the ability to lift and hold items weighing up to 30 lbs.

- Vision abilities must include close, distance, and color vision, along with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.



Preferred Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the automotive industry, particularly in inspections or body/mechanical shops, is strongly preferred.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to various outdoor weather conditions and moderate noise levels is expected. There may also be exposure to fumes and odors.
