Job Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments of vehicle conditions based on work order specifications. Identify damages, missing components, and mechanical issues by inspecting all customer vehicles upon receipt, including interior, exterior, odometer readings, trunk compartments, and engine areas. Document any damage or repairs related to the frame, paint, engine sounds, air conditioning and heating operations, radio functionality, tire conditions, and more.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED is required. Typically requires less than 2 years of experience in a related field. Successful completion of the ICP Level I written and field examination is necessary. Understanding of Baseline Inspections (Electronic Condition Report) and vehicle grading is essential. Valid driver's license and safe driving record are mandatory. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. Technical aptitude is crucial, along with knowledge of bodywork, paint, and mechanical repairs. Familiarity with unibody and full-frame vehicles is preferred. Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask, follow directions, and accept feedback are necessary. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel, and lift and hold at least 10 lbs at waist level for prolonged durations, with the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Vision capabilities must include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Preferred:
- 3 years of experience in the automotive industry (e.g., inspections, body or mechanical shops) is strongly preferred.
Work Environment:
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions is expected. Moderate noise levels may be present, and there may be exposure to fumes and odors.
