Patient Access Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Trinity Health. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient registration process for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and verify patient demographic and financial information for accurate claims processing and electronic medical records.
- Register and check-in patients, determining preliminary patient and insurance liability.
- Analyze and resolve patient account issues, initiating billing and rebilling as necessary.
- Obtain and verify medical authorization or referral forms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Utilize automated tools to facilitate accurate insurance information and educate patients on registration kiosks or online systems.
- Escalate non-routine complex issues to the Patient Access Lead for resolution.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements, protecting patient information and ensuring accurate records.
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum one year experience in a customer service role with financial responsibilities.
- Experience in healthcare, insurance, or managed care industries highly preferred.
- Completion of certification and skills competencies such as CRCSP or CHAA preferred.
