Position Overview

Summary:

Fusion Academy is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Mathematics and Science Educator to join our innovative educational environment. This role is designed to foster a student-focused and nurturing classroom atmosphere that encourages critical thinking, resourcefulness, self-awareness, and inclusivity, while addressing the unique academic and emotional needs of each learner through our tailored educational approach.

Important Note: This role requires in-person attendance.

Compensation: $27.00 per hour USD

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalized instruction in subjects including Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and potentially Statistics for students in grades 6-12.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and differentiated teaching strategies to support diverse learning styles and promote holistic development.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records for both teacher and student performance.
  • Foster open and positive communication with parents and guardians.
  • Engage actively in the campus community to contribute to a collaborative educational environment.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and self-reflection to enhance teaching practices.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to students beyond academic tutoring.
  • Perform additional duties as required, including tutoring part-time students.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is mandatory, along with a strong background in Mathematics and/or Science.
  • Proficient knowledge in a variety of subjects: Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and possibly Statistics for grades 6-12.
  • Teaching credentials are advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience working with students with learning differences and ADHD is beneficial, as is prior mentoring experience.
  • The ideal candidate should be personable, organized, proficient in basic computer skills, and enthusiastic about working in a dynamic educational setting.
  • Candidates must be ready to teach and tutor high school-level material immediately.
