Position Overview:

The Equipment Sales Engineer (ESE) serves as the primary liaison between clients and the organization. Utilizing a blend of technical expertise, communication skills, and industry knowledge, the ESE guides customers in making informed decisions regarding business and equipment solutions through a consultative sales methodology. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering precise sales quotations and specifications for equipment orders, addressing customer inquiries, and collaborating with various internal teams such as CAD, project management, service, and installation to fulfill client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote Sonny's comprehensive range of car wash solutions, including Equipment, Backroom, Water Systems, Vacuums, Controls, and Signage, alongside other competitive offerings.
  • Implement the SCWS sales process using CRM tools to monitor projects and deliver consistent, accurate sales forecasts.
  • Assist in the creation of site and equipment layouts, working closely with the CAD department.
  • Coordinate with customers and their design and construction teams to ensure timely delivery of completed project drawings.
  • Generate accurate and timely quotes, submitting equipment orders to the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) with the support of the regional team.
  • Collaborate with customers, contractors, and installation teams to establish and communicate accurate delivery timelines.
  • Manage payment requests in accordance with established schedules.
  • Set realistic expectations regarding timelines and costs for both customers and team members.
  • Travel to customer locations and industry trade shows as necessary.
  • Evaluate sites and provide constructive feedback.
  • Adhere to internal processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in regional and national trade shows.
  • Prepare quotations for ESM and directly for customers by accurately pricing projects based on specifications and required documentation.
  • Oversee projects from inception to completion, maintaining communication with customers about pricing, shipment schedules, and other pertinent details related to quotations and order processing.
  • Provide support to customers regarding project-related challenges, escalating issues as needed, and assisting in resolving technical, warranty, delivery, and parts order issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of successful experience in technical service, engineering, or field sales support, or outside sales of capital equipment or B2B value-added sales.
  • Industry-related experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is preferred.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and expertise on products to both colleagues and customers.
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Experience in a role requiring autonomy and self-motivation.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate non-standard issues using company policies.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Additional Information:

Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Up to 30% travel is required to support the sales territory.
