About Us: Banner University Medical Center - Phoenix is recognized as a premier teaching hospital located in the vibrant Southwest region. We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Hepatologist to enhance our academic faculty team within the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Role Description: This position represents a significant career advancement opportunity for a Hepatologist specializing in the comprehensive management of liver diseases. The successful candidate will engage in transplant care for patients with advanced liver disease, overseeing all aspects of pre and post-transplant care while managing a robust Advanced Liver Disease practice. Our Hepatologists collaborate with a dynamic multidisciplinary team and actively participate in selection committees, quality assurance initiatives, educational programs, and research projects.

Academic Engagement: The Transplant Hepatology role provides an excellent platform for professional growth in academic medicine. Responsibilities include:

  • Mentoring and educating Internal Medicine/Gastroenterology residents, fellows, and medical students.
  • Participating in departmental and divisional meetings, including presentations.
  • Engaging in clinical research within GI/Hepatology, with opportunities for presentations at national conferences and clinical research training.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of an Arizona medical license (or eligibility to obtain one).
  • Board Certification/Eligibility in Hepatology.
  • Completion of a GI and Transplant Hepatology Fellowship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing Upper Endoscopy procedures.
  • Conducting Colonoscopy examinations.
  • Executing Liver biopsies.
