Key Responsibilities:

In the role of Cloud Security and Operations Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing cloud networking solutions on AWS and/or Azure, including advanced configurations such as Layer 2/Layer 3 in commercial cloud hypervisors.
  • Utilizing concepts like transit gateways, VPC peering, and transitive routing for effective cloud management.
  • Setting up and managing virtualized routers (Cisco, Linux), firewalls (Palo Alto), web application firewalls, and software-defined perimeters (AppGate).
  • Provisioning and managing resources across AWS, Azure, GCP, and other cloud platforms while automating processes using popular DevOps tools and scripting languages such as Terraform, Packer, Salt, Ansible, Python, PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript, and Go.
  • Contributing to code repositories and participating in code reviews and approvals.
  • Deploying, configuring, and managing Kubernetes clusters with tools like Helm, ArgoCD, Istio, and Prometheus.
  • Implementing Single-Sign-On (SSO) solutions with MFA, SAML, and identity provider integration.
  • Establishing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and enforcing security policies.
  • Developing and managing Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions using AWS Workspaces, Azure Windows Virtual Desktop, and similar offerings.
  • Enhancing security across cloud providers, networking, and operating system layers.
  • Configuring and integrating logging solutions using EFK Stacks (ElasticSearch, Fluentd, Kibana).
  • Architecting custom solutions with code, tools, and cloud services while performing in-depth troubleshooting of cloud services and applications.
  • Maintaining and updating documentation regularly.
  • Collaborating with management and peers to refine processes and improve deployment timelines.

Qualifications:

To excel in this position, you should possess:

  • Proactive initiative in implementing new solutions and conducting research, design, and execution.
  • The ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
  • A comprehensive understanding of cloud architecture and DevSecOps deployment methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Platform One Big Bang and Cloud One Production environments.

Essential Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship and a current TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience with cloud automation, CI/CD, or serverless tools.
  • Proficiency in using JSON or YAML for Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Experience in implementing, troubleshooting, and securing cloud networks (TCP/IP, Layer 3 Routing, BGP, Firewall Security) with knowledge of best practices in AWS and Azure.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Go, Bash, or PowerShell, along with experience in Linux configuration management and system administration.
  • Experience in configuring and deploying containerized applications.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins).
  • Experience in developing with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure) using containers and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) managed through Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Successful completion of a background check and any additional customer investigation requirements prior to employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in firewall configuration and management.
  • Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps Administrator Associate.
  • Azure Administrator Associate, Developer Associate, DevOps Solutions, or DevOps Engineer Expert certifications.
  • Knowledge of Cloud-Native Architectures and Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with Zero Trust Architectures.
