Position Overview

First Hawaiian Bank is currently looking for a meticulous, engaging, and customer-oriented Wealth Management Specialist to join our Private Banking Division. In this capacity, you will be tasked with delivering exceptional service to Private Banking clients while proactively addressing their financial needs through the provision of banking services. You will act as a financial advisor dedicated to nurturing long-term relationships and customizing financial solutions to align with client goals and objectives, leveraging partnerships with the Wealth Management Group and other banking sectors. It is essential to project a professional demeanor and competence as a representative of Private Banking.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm (Hours may vary)

Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $64,168-$140,000/year, plus incentives and bonuses, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications
  • Completion of required wealth planning training within 6 months of joining the Private Banking Division and obtaining a minimum of two licenses and/or certifications related to wealth management by the end of the second calendar year.
  • Basic Residential Certification and MLO registration within 6 months from hire or equivalent work experience required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the banking or finance industry is required.
  • A post-baccalaureate degree is preferred.
  • Experience in wealth management, including financial and estate planning, insurance, and investment products is preferred.
  • Commercial and/or consumer lending skills with the ability to negotiate, structure, price, document, and close transactions of small to moderate complexity with minimal guidance are preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with strong proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, RMS, and Branch Automation or equivalent.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to meet all required deadlines.
  • Highly self-motivated and goal-oriented with sales skills to support business development objectives.
  • Willingness to learn basic financial, retirement, and estate planning techniques and solutions.
  • Compliance with SAFE Act requirements by completing registration in the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) within 180 days of transfer into the role.
  • Meeting Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Loan Originator requirements.
