Job Summary

Evara Health is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to provide accounting support to major financial accounting areas, including accounts payable, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic office tasks such as filing, data entry, and answering phones.
  • Prepare and balance deposits and provide reports to cash posters for all incoming deposits daily.
  • Enter daily transactions into the Finance shared posting log, balance, and work with the Billing Department and Finance staff to resolve differences.
  • Manage and review site deposit logs for daily activity and ensure deposits are completed timely.
  • Perform monthly vendor and purchase card reconciliations.
  • Research old, outstanding checks to either void and re-issue or move to unclaimed property.
  • Assist in performing accounts payable processing, including entering invoices, maintaining vendor files, cutting checks, obtaining signatures, and filing cancelled backup documents.
  • Maintain and review time and attendance reports and other payroll details for accurate reporting; work with HR staff and site supervisors to resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist in preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll, payroll trainings, employee support, and reporting.
  • Reconcile monthly benefit statements and work with HR staff to resolve discrepancies.
  • Strict adherence to all Evara Health, HIPAA, HRSA, State, Federal, and accreditation agency rules and regulations.
  • Assist in reconciling balance sheet and other G/L accounts, analyze documentation, and prepare journal entries as part of the monthly close process.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Suite of products and modern office equipment for administrative functions.
  • Strong ability to compile and organize data and create clear, concise reports.
  • Ability to operate a computerized accounting system.
  • Ability to work well with others and establish and maintain effective working relationships with departmental personnel and vendors.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize tasks and projects.
