Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Supervisor to join our team at Cornerstone Building Brands. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for overseeing the production process, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Oversight: Supervise and direct manufacturing team members to ensure production demands are met, while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards.
  • Staffing and Training: Develop and implement staffing guidelines to maximize human resource utilization, while controlling manpower costs. Hire, supervise, evaluate, and replace staff as needed to ensure performance objectives are met.
  • Leadership and Development: Develop and train team members to prepare them for increasing responsibilities. Evaluate team members periodically and provide feedback, hold shift meetings to discuss safety and production items.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to reduce costs, improve quality, and increase efficiency. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to achieve business objectives.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and training to shift personnel on areas such as line setup, operation, testing, tooling, troubleshooting, and safety procedures.
  • Associate Development: Identify potential career paths for associates and work with them to develop their skills and knowledge to progress within the company.
  • Recruitment and Selection: Interview qualified candidates for manufacturing positions and recommend candidates for hire.
  • Line Operations: Assign personnel to extrusion lines or production areas and oversee line or area rotations and break schedules during assigned shifts.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Complete or oversee completion of paperwork related to line operation, operator logs, PM logs, audits, and corrective action.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to short-notice production or shipping needs by interrupting the normal flow of work.
  • Safety and Compliance: Knowledge and understanding of all safety policies and regulations, and ability to address unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Policy Administration: Administer policies in a fair and consistent manner, providing coaching and counseling to associates and corrective action when needed.
  • Business Objectives: Promote overall company goals in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and assist with implementations for continuous process improvement, using data to improve and refine production processes.
  • Materials Control: Control materials to eliminate waste and support quality.
Requirements
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish
  • Supervisory Experience: Minimum of three years of progressively responsible supervisory and leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Experience dealing with concrete is preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Highly developed oral and written communication skills, combined with the ability to educate and train operators and technicians in a production environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate, mentor, and train associates on a regular basis.
  • Lean and 5S Principles: Proficient in Lean and 5S principles.
  • Mathematical and Mechanical Skills: Upper-level mathematical and mechanical skills required.
  • Work Orders and Schedules: Knowledge of work orders, schedules, and priorities, and ability to carry out tasks.
  • Attendance Record: Excellent attendance record.
