Principal Product Manager – Innovation Position Summary

We are currently searching for a Principal Product Manager to join our team. This role will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of the Company by focusing on evaluating new ventures to effectively prioritize innovation efforts, ensure the best ideas are prioritized appropriately, and increase the likelihood of success for new product initiatives.

This leadership position requires a combination of strategic thinking, deep market understanding, and effective cross-functional collaboration to evaluate opportunities against the Company and Product vision and assessing product/market fit. This role is essential for ensuring that the Company maximizes its product and development resources in initiatives that have the potential to deliver value and align with our strategic goals. You will work closely with our senior leadership team, product and engineering teams, business development and many other departments to help the company deliver on its commitments to our clients.

This position is primarily (ideally in Denver) remote though you will be expected to travel occasionally to our Denver headquarters.

This is a hybrid position with in-person and remote schedule flexibility based out of Denver, CO.

The salary range for this position is between $142k - $165k, depending on level of experience.

Principal Product Manager – Innovation Primary Responsibilities

  • Ability to quickly ramp up on complex products/services/applications and have a deep understanding on all facets of our client base, how our applications support the products we sell to clients and the value drivers of the business
  • Work with the Head of Product to periodically review and refine the overall product vision and strategy, and evaluate new opportunities for overall alignment
  • Gather feedback from clients, stakeholders, and market testing to iterate and refine product ideas
  • Conduct market assessments and strategy development for new ideas, including market and user research to evaluate and validate opportunities to make informed product decisions
  • Engage stakeholders early and perform analysis on ideas from all angles of the business outlining feasibility and cost/benefit analysis
  • Evaluating tradeoffs between different ideas backed by financial analysis and business justifications
  • Prioritize opportunities for innovation based on market trends, customer needs and business objectives
  • Ability to gather and analyze leading, measurable data to validate hypotheses
  • Manage innovation projects, including timelines, budgets, and resources, to ensure timely delivery and successful outcomes
  • Work with stakeholders to develop processes to operationalize trials or launches to market
  • Provide product demos to potential partners or clients
  • Partner with Product Managers and Designers to:
    • understand all existing user experiences and personas, including synergy opportunities with new ideas
    • ensure strategic alignment and seamless handoff for ideas that naturally fit into existing applications
  • Ownership and development of the Product Lifecycle Framework used internally to evaluate ideas and move new initiatives through the framework and successfully receive cross functional approval
  • Lead ideation sessions and brainstorming workshops to generate new product ideas and concepts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights and foster a culture of innovation within the organization
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, industry developments and client preferences to inform product innovation efforts

Principal Product Manager – Innovation Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 7+ years of software product management experience with a track record of frequently delivering value to end users and the business
  • Detailed-oriented, data-driven, analytical, inquisitive, pro-active and can visualize the big picture
  • Experience working with internal stakeholders across all departments within a company as well as with taking ideas from 0 to 1 as well as managing launches and live products
  • Experience in the Fintech and/or Digital Payments space
  • Eager to listen and learn, empathy for end users as well as business stakeholders
  • Extensive user research experience with sophisticated customers
  • Proven track record of being able to measure what matters and using data (quantitative and qualitative) to know when to make tweaks or pivots to a strategy
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience doing build vs. buy vs. partner analysis

  • Must be available to work standard business hours, and occasional nights/weekends
  • Travel may be necessary, up to 5% of year, and may not be scheduled in advance
  • Must be able to work on-site in Denver office from time to time
