Job Title: Head of Warranty and Project Management

Sulzer is a leading engineering company with a proud heritage of innovation. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Warranty and Project Management team in the United States.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage all projects for SPUSA, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Drive synergies between SPUSA and other Sulzer entities to maximize the benefits of a Global Virtual Factory environment.
  • Supervise the PM/Warranty department, including hiring, disciplining, and performance reviews.
  • Ensure order entry, initial project setup, and hand-over with all contributing entities are performed on time and in quality.
  • Drive project execution by executing any scope under SPUSA direct responsibility, issuing Inter-Company POs, coordinating and resolving I/C issues, issuing invoices, and driving cash collection.
  • Overall accountability for all warranty issues, from claim notification to closure, and lesson learned, partnering with key involved functions.
  • Overall accountability for all warranty project deliverables, including hardware, financial, and commercial outputs, dispute management, customer satisfaction, and on-time delivery.
  • Overall accountability for effective warranty project cost and recovery of costs/income leading to profitability.
  • Provide counsel to Project Management offices on key negotiations with SPUSA customers, directly lead discussion and negotiation of large claims/commercial settlements.
  • Provide accurate financial forecast (sales, cash) from I/C Sulzer entities, assess risks and opportunities, and drive achievement of SPUSA financial targets.
  • Participate in project reviews, act as Senior Sponsor/Reviewer for large/complex projects as necessary.
  • Drive assigned global initiatives, working closely with other regions and HQ, to standardize procedures, harmonize tools, and drive a Project-focused organization.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs to track project execution for local and global reporting and project control purposes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or closely related field, or equivalent education and experience combined.
  • 8 years' technical pump and pumping system knowledge preferred.
  • Strong Negotiating skills.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills in use of WINDOWS/WORD/EXCEL/POWERPOINT/OUTLOOK.
  • Strong time management and project management skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Good presentation skills preferred.
