Position Purpose:

As a Water Treatment Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of high-quality water to our customers. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and repair of water treatment equipment and systems.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and operate water treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
  • Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on pumps, motors, control systems, and other equipment.
  • Monitor water quality parameters, adjust chemical feed rates, and conduct laboratory analyses to ensure optimal treatment performance.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Operator and engineering team to optimize system efficiency and address any operational challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records of water production, chemical usage, and maintenance activities.
  • Contribute to a safe and efficient work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Water Treatment Technology or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience operating and maintaining water treatment facilities.
  • Strong understanding of water treatment processes, chemistry, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in using SCADA systems and other process control equipment.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Certifications:

  • Minimum Grade 1 Rhode Island Water Treatment Certification (T1).
  • Ability to obtain a Grade 1 Rhode Island Distribution Operators Certification (D1) within one year of hire.
