We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at WMCHealth as a Maternity Care Specialist. In this role, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to new mothers and their families in our obstetrics department.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families on various aspects of maternal care, including postpartum recovery and newborn care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring safe and accurate administration.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
- Document patient information accurately and thoroughly, including progress notes and discharge summaries.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of medical-surgical hospital experience, with previous obstetrics experience preferred.
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) training within 6 months of employment.
- Certification in inpatient obstetrics and EFM certification are preferred.
