Senior Vice President, Animal Welfare Operations

About the Role:

The ASPCA is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Vice President, Animal Welfare Operations to lead our Cruelty Recovery Center (CRC) team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the CRC, ensuring the well-being and care of animals, and providing strategic direction to achieve our organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the CRC team and delegate tasks to ensure smooth daily operations, well-integrated animal care, and efficient resource allocation.
  • Create and maintain communication systems, protocols, and procedures to respond to changing needs and ensure resource flexibility.
  • Ensure all CRC workers are well-trained on policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and lead regular team-wide training on updates.
  • Maintain structured processes for making sound, objective, and timely animal pathway planning and outcome decisions.
  • Oversee the creation of a new local volunteer program and the growth/maintenance of the CRC's foster and direct adoptions programs.
  • Work with internal experts to oversee CRC facility maintenance, modifications, and repairs.
  • Lead the development of a yearly strategic plan for the CRC and related individual goals for CRC staff members to support the ASPCA's short- and long-term goals.
  • Manage a substantial budget, overseeing exposure tracking systems, and provide monthly budget projections for the Finance team.
  • Deploy to provide leadership and direct case support in the field, ensuring excellent ongoing communication with collaborating teams.

Qualifications:

  • BS, BA, or equivalent professional experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience leading a large team and overseeing a multifaceted program.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience managing a substantial, complex budget.
  • Experience working as a leader in an animal shelter and thorough animal welfare knowledge required.

Compensation and Benefits:
