Axient is seeking a skilled Budget Analyst to support our operations. In this position, you will assist in coordinating and providing expertise on all Plans, Programs, and Budgeting Systems (PPBS) as well as resource planning actions for a key directorate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent evaluations of current and future financial baselines for assigned Program Elements (PEs), develop spending plans, and oversee the Program Objective Memorandum (POM) for PEs.
  • Monitor fund obligation and expenditure rates at the organizational level, identify discrepancies, and propose corrective measures while detailing the resource environment and gaps.
  • Manage the Budget Execution Report (BER) and Execution Plan, supporting initial distribution within the directorate.
  • Provide fiscal guidance to leadership in preparing and presenting briefings for system changes.
  • Assist the directorate with the PPBE process, including Centralized Asset Management (CAM) governance for various funding categories.
  • Ensure accurate capture of funding requirements to maintain traceability to mission needs, validate funding requests, and confirm execution capabilities.
  • Prepare briefings and supporting materials for leadership engagement with senior officials to communicate resource requirements throughout the PPBE process.
  • Track funding documents from initiation to completion, providing status updates and reconciling inaccuracies with relevant stakeholders.
  • Process commitment and obligation documentation, including various forms and vouchers in relevant financial systems.
  • Consolidate inputs for financial and program management tasks to ensure timely responses.
  • Maintain proficiency in standard USAF financial management applications and emerging capabilities.
  • Coordinate with course registrars to identify funding needs for student throughput and manage the funding process.

Required Skills:

  • Possess a SECRET Clearance.
  • At least five years of experience in financial resource management, including two years in budget cycle and program financial analysis for the Department of Defense.
  • A minimum of four years of experience with financial processing software such as DEAMS, CRIS, and ABSS.
  • Familiarity with USG/DoD principles and methodologies in Resource Management, Budgeting, and Acquisitions.
  • Understanding of the PPBE process.
  • Strong capability to manage multiple complex tasks and delegate effectively.
