This role serves as an entry-level position within the Clerk of Courts Office, where individuals will engage in specialized administrative functions related to the legal acceptance, documentation, filing, and reproduction of various official court records.
Position Summary
Incumbents are tasked with ensuring accurate and timely processing of court-related documents in compliance with legal standards. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.
Work Environment
The majority of work is conducted in an office setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently receive, process, and maintain a variety of court documents.
- Maintain case file information, which includes categorizing cases, assigning case numbers, and entering data.
- Organize and manage administrative tasks for the court, including scheduling and notifications, while assisting attorneys and the public as needed.
- Accurately assess and collect applicable fines and fees.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or G.E.D. is mandatory, along with one year of relevant experience in a legal setting, including familiarity with legal terminology. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
An Associate's Degree in business administration, paralegal studies, criminal justice, legal assistance, or a related field is preferred.

- Comprehensive understanding of applicable Federal and Georgia laws, regulations, and Court Rules.
- Familiarity with County and Clerk of Court policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in utilizing modern technology and systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make independent decisions.

- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Ability to communicate with tact and courtesy with Elected Officials, colleagues, judges, attorneys, external agencies, and the public.
