Job Summary

The Deputy Clerk I position is responsible for providing specialized customer service and administrative support to the court system. This role is considered the entry-level position for the series and requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in administrative or clerical support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide customer service to the public, attorneys, and law enforcement agencies via phone, email, and in-person
  • Process and review legal documents, including court orders, deeds, and citations
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records and filing systems
  • Assist with court calendar management, including scheduling hearings and trials
  • Process payments and maintain cash handling responsibilities
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • One year of experience in administrative or clerical support
  • Valid State of Georgia Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a judicial or court setting
