The Postpartum Nurse Residency Program at ChristianaCare is tailored for Senior Nursing Students, recent Nurse Graduates, and newly licensed RNs who have a strong commitment to Maternal/Child healthcare. This program offers accredited training alongside industry-recognized apprenticeship initiatives to prepare nurses with the essential knowledge and skills required for delivering outstanding care to mothers and their newborns.

As a Postpartum Nurse, your responsibilities will include caring for both mothers and their infants, ensuring their health and stability, while also providing vital education to families regarding newborn care and development. You will be immersed in a nurturing environment that emphasizes specialized training in postpartum nursing, including the administration of FDA-approved treatments for postpartum depression.

This comprehensive 24-week program features preceptor-led clinical training, educational workshops, and professional development sessions designed to enhance your growth as a nursing professional. Upon successful completion of the program, you will transition into a staff nurse role within the ChristianaCare Health System.

Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
- BLS certification is mandatory
- Less than 12 months of nursing experience
- Eligibility for RN licensure in Delaware or a Compact State

  • Address your cover letter to the designated program coordinator
  • Include your resume and unofficial academic transcript
  • Two clinical references will be required

What to Anticipate:

Following your application submission, you will participate in a video interview and provide clinical references through third-party vendors. Applications will be assessed by residency coordinators, and digital interviews will be conducted prior to offers being extended. Nurse Residency positions will commence in the spring.
