Job Title: Behavioral Health Crisis Response Supervising Clinician

Join the City of Boulder's Behavioral Health Crisis Response team as a Supervising Clinician and play a vital role in providing clinical and administrative supervision to staff. This is a full-time salaried position with a competitive pay range of $82,680.00 - $122,824.00.

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Health Crisis Response Supervising Clinician acts as a clinician for the City of Boulder's Behavioral Health Crisis Response team, providing supervision and oversight for a portion of the clinicians and case managers. The team responds to crisis situations in the community, providing clinical interventions, risk assessments, and referrals to community-based services and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides clinical and administrative supervision to staff, including field observation and on-scene coaching.
  • Manages day-to-day administrative oversight, ensuring correct documentation and observance of confidentiality protocols.
  • Facilitates team meetings and team development activities.
  • Provides in-person response to crisis situations in the community, conducting clinical interventions and risk assessments.
  • Makes appropriate level of care decisions on scene and communicates with collateral agencies to facilitate referrals.
Requirements:
  • Master's or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field.
  • Licensed in Colorado as LP, LCSW, LPC, LAC, or LMFT.
  • Five years' experience in crisis intervention, suicide and risk assessment, verbal de-escalation, and differential diagnosis.
  • Experience training or supervising clinical staff.
Working Conditions:

Work requires visual and physical capabilities to work on computers, radios, and associated equipment on a regular basis. The position involves working in dynamic crisis situations in novel community-based environments, with frequent interruptions and sometimes adversarial conditions.
