Culinary Assistant

This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation in a fast-paced hospital food service environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and serve food to patients, staff, and visitors in a timely and efficient manner.
- Process new diets and menus or changes to existing diets or menus, and inform dietary staff of patient requirements.
- Tally and record nutrition information, and ensure that meals are delivered to the correct recipients according to guidelines.
- Operate food production equipment according to policy and standards, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Assist in monitoring work and training employees in proper techniques and in the use of supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including loading trays with accessories, cleaning or sterilizing dishes, and stocking serving stations.
- High School or GED preferred.
- Some food service work experience and working with public preferred.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds during a scheduled work shift.
- Ability to see with corrective eye wear and hear clearly with assistance.
- Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
This position requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, and may be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases. The ability to wear protective equipment as necessary is also required.
