Position Overview

We are in search of a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is based in a unique coastal dining environment that fosters collaboration and creativity. The Culinary Specialist plays a vital role in our culinary operations, bringing energy, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for hospitality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate effective communication within the culinary team and restaurant staff.
  • Ensure proper inventory management and food storage practices.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality during preparation.
  • Operate various kitchen equipment, including mixers, slicers, ranges, grills, fryers, and ovens.
  • Taste and season dishes to meet quality standards.
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and organizing.
  • Follow recipes and presentation guidelines to deliver exceptional dishes.
  • Create special meals and accommodate dietary preferences.
  • Uphold safe food handling practices.
  • Mentor and guide new team members.
  • Serve food in appropriate portions and presentation styles.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, tools, and equipment.
  • Greet and engage with all guests and team members in accordance with company standards.
  • Anticipate the needs of our clientele.
  • Report maintenance issues, accidents, and unsafe conditions to management.
Qualifications
  • At least two years of experience in a similar culinary role within a club or hotel setting.
  • Strong communication skills with guests, team members, and management.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Capability to reach, bend, twist, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including heat and humidity.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to remain on your feet and active throughout the shift.
  • Capability to lift and transport items as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to connect with diverse individuals.
  • Organizational skills to manage tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Basic math skills for inventory and portion management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ServSafe certification.
  • Degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management is advantageous.
  • Experience in club settings.
  • Knowledge of coastal cuisine.
  • Experience with outdoor catering events.
