POSITION: Structural Project Manager

SHIFT: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

SUMMARY: TrueNorth Steel is in search of a dedicated and detail-oriented Structural Project Manager responsible for overseeing contract and negotiated projects throughout the detailing, fabrication, delivery, and project completion phases.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage structural steel and miscellaneous metal scopes for both contract and negotiated construction projects.
  • Provide leadership and direction during preconstruction, detailing, fabrication, delivery, installation, and project close-out phases.
  • Oversee project management for medium to large and moderate to high-risk projects.
  • Review contract documents and specifications to ensure compliance and proper distribution to relevant personnel.
  • Establish project timelines and milestones through effective communication with customers and internal departments.
  • Maintain project schedules and communicate timelines with drafting, purchasing, production, transport, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure continuous communication with project customers, engineers, architects, erectors, and subcontractors.
  • Review costs associated with notifications of change and back charges.
  • Compile and analyze job costing reports, investigating significant variances.
  • Collaborate with key personnel to ensure adherence to contract documents.
  • Support estimating processes and manage vendor and subcontractor resources.
  • Enhance client relationships through effective communication.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell products from other business units within TrueNorth Steel.
  • Provide backup support to estimators as needed.
  • Exhibit prompt and dependable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • General computer proficiency, including experience with spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal abilities to foster effective working relationships.
  • Capacity to work independently and accept responsibility for actions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to strive for project completion and handle challenging situations.
  • Organizational skills to direct projects to successful completion.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's Degree in Architectural Drafting and Estimating, Construction Management, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Two to three years of related experience preferred.
