SUMMARY: TrueNorth Steel is in search of a dedicated and detail-oriented Structural Project Manager to oversee contract and negotiated projects throughout the detailing, fabrication, delivery, and project close-out phases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage structural steel and miscellaneous metal scope on various construction projects.
  • Provide leadership during preconstruction, detailing, fabrication, delivery, installation, and project close-out phases.
  • Oversee project management for medium to large-scale projects with varying risk levels.
  • Review contract documents and specifications to ensure compliance and proper distribution of requirements.
  • Establish project timelines and milestones through effective communication with customers and internal teams.
  • Maintain project schedules and coordinate with Drafting, Purchasing, Production, Transport, and Sub-contractors.
  • Ensure continuous communication with customers, engineers, architects, erectors, and subcontractors.
  • Analyze job costing reports and investigate significant variances.
  • Support estimating and procurement of vendor and subcontractor resources.
  • Enhance client relationships through effective communication.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling products within TrueNorth Steel's business units.
  • Assist estimators as needed.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance and fulfill other assigned duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • General computer proficiency with experience in spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships.
  • Capacity to work independently and take responsibility for actions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive approach to completing projects and resolving conflicts.
  • Organizational skills to direct projects to successful completion.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's Degree in Architectural Drafting and Estimating, Construction Management, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Two to three years of relevant experience preferred.
