Position Summary
The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for constructing, assembling, or refurbishing complete products or their components according to customer specifications and company guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Align and position components for assembly, either manually or with hoists.
- Repair or replace damaged parts or assemblies as needed.
- Develop or revise assembly work instructions.
- Interpret assembly blueprints or specifications and plan assembly operations accordingly.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to fasten or install product components into assemblies or subassemblies.
- Adhere to safety protocols and utilize safety equipment.
- Review engineering change requests and submit suggestions for production improvements.
- Understand production goals and ensure assembly targets are met.
Work Environment
- Exposure to distracting or uncomfortable noise levels.
- Work is conducted in a metal fabrication and warehouse setting without climate control.
- Consistent use of personal protective equipment is required.
- Standard work schedule is 40 hours per week, with potential for overtime as production demands.
Physical Requirements
- Engagement in physical activities requiring the use of arms and legs, including climbing, lifting, and handling materials.
- Ability to lift and move parts or fixtures weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Capability to stoop, bend, and reach overhead during assembly tasks.
- Must maintain a fit-for-duty status, free from substances that could impair job performance.
- Ability to stand and work on feet for the duration of the shift.
