Position Summary

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for constructing, assembling, or refurbishing entire products or components based on customer specifications and internal work instructions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Align and position components for assembly, either manually or with the aid of hoists.
  • Repair or replace damaged parts or assemblies as necessary.
  • Develop or revise assembly work instructions.
  • Interpret assembly blueprints or specifications and plan assembly operations accordingly.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools to fasten or install product components into assemblies or subassemblies.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain safe work practices.
  • Review engineering change requests and propose improvements to production processes.
  • Understand production goals and ensure assembly targets are met.

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to noise levels that may be distracting or uncomfortable.
  • Work is performed in a metal fabrication and warehouse environment without climate control.
  • Consistent use of personal protective equipment is required.
  • Standard work schedule is 40 hours per week, with potential for overtime based on production needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Engage in physical activities requiring the use of arms and legs, including climbing, lifting, and handling materials.
  • Ability to lift and move parts or fixtures weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to stoop, bend, and reach overhead during assembly tasks.
  • Must maintain fitness for duty and be free from the effects of substances that could impair job performance.
  • Ability to stand and work on feet for the duration of the shift.
