Manufacturing Engineer II

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer II to join our team at RTX. As a key member of our Operations Engineering group, you will provide critical support to our Circuit Card Assembly Factory in Andover, MA.
Your primary responsibilities will include supporting the operation of Wave Solder, Selective Solder, Router, and Mechanical Assembly lines. This will involve working with automated and programmable equipment for multiple products and programs.
You will also be responsible for process improvement, cycle time reduction, defect prevention, and operator support. Additionally, you will participate in process improvement initiatives, establish process baseline metrics, and conduct defect prevention and process data analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Creating and overseeing projects using risk management techniques
- Translating engineering design requirements into formal manufacturing process documentation
- Computer and machine programming for manufacturing automation
- Dispositioning of discrepant hardware
- Leading root cause and corrective action investigations to solve problems and prevent recurrence
- Participating in process improvement and cost reduction initiatives using Lean Manufacturing methodology
- Manufacturing process development and support
- Conducting safety/ergonomic assessments
- Interaction with senior personnel on technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and/or suppliers
- Tool/fixture development to drive ergonomics and reductions in cost and/or defects
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree
- Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Knowledge and experience with ANSI J-STD-001 Class 3
- Experience in applying Lean Manufacturing principles
- Experience with supporting circuit card assembly production floor, (process and/or quality focus)
- Specialized tooling development (Jigs, Fixtures, Specialized Packaging Development)
- Masking development
- Experience supporting the following equipment: Wave Solder, Selective Solder, PWB Routers
- Knowledge and ability to apply Six Sigma principles and techniques
- Experience in DFMA principles
- Strong organization skills with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Self-motivated and results-oriented
- Innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement and keeps pace with advances in technology
- Detail-oriented with strong coordination skills
- Ability to work in a team setting as well as individually
- Proven written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
- Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines
- Adaptability to varying work assignments
- Experience with automated equipment and programming
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Teams, Excel, PPT, Project, Word)

We offer a competitive salary range of $64,000 - $128,000, as well as a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
