We're seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Grossing Technician to join our team at Sonic Anatomic Pathology. As a key member of our clinical laboratory team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality results and advancing the health and wellbeing of our communities.
About the Role:
- Perform all technical aspects of grossing and dictating tissue specimens using laboratory materials and equipment under the direct supervision of a Pathologist or Pathologist Assistant.
- Dictate a detailed gross description for each specimen, including anatomical site, size, color, weight, dimensions, count, volume, cut techniques, abnormal findings, and preparation for cassettes.
- Analyze, review, and report testing results with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Recognize and implement effective solutions to ensure quality control and safety in the laboratory environment.
- Work collaboratively in a fast-paced laboratory setting with biological and chemical hazards.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution or equivalent under CLIA guidelines.
- State licensure, if applicable.
- 2+ years of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing within the area of specialty.
