Patient Access Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team at Stony Brook Medicine. As a key member of our Patient Access Services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration and financial processing of patients.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately and efficiently complete registration and financial tasks, including verifying patient information, collecting payments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and respectful manner.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure seamless patient throughput.
- Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and policies, ensuring compliance and maintaining the highest standards of excellence.
- Associate's degree with one year of experience in public health or a related field, or two years of demonstrated excellence in a similar role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and make decisions based on ethical principles.
- Proficiency in EMR computerized registration and financial systems, with experience in medical insurance benefits and coding.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.
