Job Overview

This role is essential for providing comprehensive support within the IT framework of Powder River Industries, LLC. The technician will deliver second-level assistance to users facing challenges with personal computers, servers, and mainframe applications. Responsibilities include addressing issues that first-tier support cannot resolve, collaborating with network services and software engineering teams to restore functionality, and diagnosing user-reported problems.

Key Responsibilities

The Computer User Support Technician will:

  • Offer technical, operational, and training assistance to users of personal computing systems, either remotely or on-site.
  • Install and configure personal computers, printers, and peripherals, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to printers, computers, and peripheral devices.
  • Conduct hardware and software diagnostics, coordinating necessary repairs and solutions.
  • Engage in system configuration evaluations and software assessments to enhance user experience.
Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • An AA/AS degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of applicable professional experience.
  • Preferred certifications such as DoD 8570 IA Baseline Certification, IAT Level I (e.g., A+ CE, Network+ CE).
  • Experience with Windows 10 and MS Office 2013.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems like Remedy.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • The capacity to collaborate effectively across various IT departments.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills

Additional skills that would be advantageous include:

  • Experience with printer maintenance for brands such as Xerox, Lexmark, HP, or Ricoh.
  • Prior experience in a similar environment.
  • Knowledge of Video Teleconferencing systems.
  • Experience with ServiceNow.
  • Familiarity with Office 365 support.
Technical Environment

The technician will operate within a technical environment utilizing Windows 10 or Windows 11, ServiceNow ticketing system, and Microsoft 365 Office suite.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Possession of a Secret clearance (Interim Secret Clearance required prior to start).
  • DoD 8570 IAT level I certification preferred or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months.
  • A valid driver's license.
Education
