Job Overview

This role is crucial in providing technical assistance to users within the organization. The selected candidate will deliver second-level support for various computing environments, including personal computers, servers, and mainframe applications. Key Responsibilities

The Computer User Support Technician will:

  • Simulate user issues to diagnose and resolve operational challenges.
  • Recommend system modifications to enhance user experience and minimize technical difficulties.
  • Maintain a high level of technical proficiency in relevant areas.
  • Provide on-site and remote support for desktop hardware and software applications.
  • Install and configure personal computers, printers, and peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to printers, computers, and other peripherals.
  • Perform hardware and software diagnostics and coordinate necessary repairs.
  • Facilitate communication between users and local area network components.
  • Participate in evaluating system configurations and software applications.
Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Preferred certifications include DoD 8570 IA Baseline Certification, IAT Level I such as A+ CE, Network+ CE, SSCP, or CCNA-Security.
  • Availability for standard work hours with occasional after-hours support.
  • Experience with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2013.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems like Remedy.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively across various IT departments.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
  • Team-oriented mindset.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with maintenance of printer devices such as Xerox, Lexmark, HP, or Ricoh.
  • Prior experience in a similar environment.
  • Familiarity with Video Teleconferencing systems, particularly Cisco.
  • Experience with ServiceNow is advantageous.
  • Background in Department of Defense settings.
  • Support experience with Office 365.
Technical Environment

The technician will work within a technical framework that includes Windows 10 or Windows 11 operating systems, ServiceNow ticketing system, and Microsoft 365 Office suite.

Essential Requirements
  • Must possess a Secret clearance or have Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting.
  • DoD 8570 IAT level I certification is preferred or must be obtained within six months of employment.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
