We are seeking a highly skilled Bioanalytical Automation Specialist to join our team at Parexel International Corporation. This full-time position offers a range of benefits, including sick time, 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off.

This role is part of our regulated bioanalytical group, which is responsible for providing automation and operational support to our scientific labs. The successful candidate will work closely with our method development groups, preclinical (GLP) group, clinical group, and data scientists to deliver state-of-the-art automated assays and support bioanalysis workflows across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liquid Handling and Automation Integration:
    • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure accurate liquid handling.
    • Collaborate with vendors to support and service equipment, minimizing downtime.
    • Interface automation with other devices and databases.
    • Responsible for operations and troubleshooting robotic systems.
  • LIMS Management:
    • Maintain accurate records in LIMS for sample management (inventory and tracking).
    • Utilize and demonstrate proficiency with computer database systems that support and facilitate sample management operations.
  • Project Support:
    • Define project requirements.
    • Creation and execution of Installation and Operational Qualification (IQ/OQ) documents.
    • Coordinate installation requirements with Safety and Facilities.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Seek to continuously improve processes, systems, and overall client satisfaction.
    • Provide direction/information to vendors, suppliers, facilities staff, and service providers as required.
    • Create SOPs for efficient and effective operation of automated equipment.
  • Client Interface:
    • Act as an interface with clients and suppliers.
    • Collaborate to solve problems and resolve spontaneous and unique situations with professionalism and service orientation.

Qualifications:

  • Automation Specialist 1: BS with 0-1 years of industry experience.
  • Automation Specialist 2: BS with 1-2 years of industry experience; or MS with no experience.
  • Automation Specialist 3: BS with 3-5 years of industry experience; or MS with 1-2 years of experience.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High level of automation and engineering competency and technical expertise in the areas of integration, robotics, liquid handling, software, and electro-mechanical solutions.
  • Experience with computer languages (e.g., VB, Python, C#, labview).
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with site leaders, corporate management, and other stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to prioritize projects and resources to deliver required level of output and support to customers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Development and execution of quantitative and qualitative bioanalytical assays (e.g., ELSA, mass spectrometry, ECL).
  • Experience with liquid handling systems (e.g., Beckman, Labcyte, Tecan, Hamilton).
  • SQL/Oracle programming.
