Pharmacy Technician Generalist

At The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, we are committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and families. As a Pharmacy Technician Generalist, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy team in preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patient-specific and non-patient specific doses by ensuring that medications are accurately identified, retrieved, drawn-up, labeled, packaged and stored according to CHOP Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Deliver patient-specific medications to the designated medication storage location in the proper patient care unit according to CHOP Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Properly handle and accurately oversee floor-stock medications to designated automated dispensing cabinetry according to CHOP Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Properly handle and accurately oversee medications in all non-automated distribution systems according to CHOP Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and department standards and regulations for non-sterile product compounding.
  • Accurately repackaging medications into unit-dose packages using pharmacy repackaging hardware according to CHOP Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Perform inspection process according to CHOP Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure all documentation and recordkeeping requirements set forth by CHOP Pharmacy are met.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy setting preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in preparation and dispensing of medications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
